About Maldives

The Maldives is not a beach holiday — it's a private ocean holiday. Each resort occupies its own island; your villa sits directly over a lagoon so clear you can watch fish from your deck. It's genuinely unlike anywhere else on earth.

The dry season runs November through April. This is when you want to be here — calm seas, low humidity, visibility 30 metres underwater. The wet season brings heavier rain and choppier water, though resorts remain open and prices drop significantly.

Getting here requires two flights from Toronto and a seaplane or speedboat transfer to your island. We coordinate every connection — timing is critical and local knowledge matters.

Luv to Travel Insider Tips

Not all Maldives resorts are equal — price alone does not predict quality or location. We've visited the islands and can match you to a resort that suits your style and budget.

Book a water villa with a private pool if your budget allows — the over-the-water view is the core experience, and a pool means you're not dependent on the lagoon for a swim.

Seaplane transfers are only available during daylight hours. Your arrival flight timing determines whether you transfer by seaplane or overnight in Malé — we plan around this.
